Is this the best tour for you?

  • Do you feel any tingling in your fingers? That my friend is power! This tour puts it in your hands – there are a few entries, so you have plenty of freedom to decide what you want to do.
  • The road from Ella to Tissa Lake runs from the hills to the coast, which means it can be frustratingly slow. It also means that you can watch amazing scenes from every angle.
  • Sri Lanka’s tourism industry is booming and as a result there is a huge increase in visitors to the Yala National Park. Tourism and the lack of sustainable management practices are the main focus of Voyager Lanka, so we try to minimize our impact on wildlife and the environment by visiting the lower tourism section of the park known as 5th Block or Veheragala. If we decide that Part 5 is too crowded to visit responsibly, we will change our route to visit Udawalawe National Park. Udawalawe is home to wild elephants, wild buffalo, sambar deer and leopards. This is the path we follow from September to mid-October, when the Yala National Park is closed annually for infrastructure development and revitalization.

Special Information

Sri Lanka’s tourism industry is booming, with a large increase in visitors to the Yala National Park. Lack of tourism and sustainable management practices have been our main focus of our visit to Yala. To minimize our impact on wildlife and the environment, we are trying to visit a lesser known tourist area called the 5th Block in the Yala area. Should we decide that it will be difficult to continue traveling responsibly due to the large number of tourists in section 5, we will change our route. Visit Udawalawe National Park where wild elephants, wild buffaloes, sambar deer and leopards also live. From September to October, when the Yala National Park is closed annually for infrastructure development and revitalization, we go on a jeep safari in the Udawalawe National Park. Udawalawe is home to wild elephants, wild buffalo, sambar deer and leopards.
